FAQs

What if I have an insurance broker in place already?

Are you happy with your current insurance broker?

Is your current insurance broker carrying out a full independent market review each year?

Is your current insurance broker looking after all of your administrative requirements?

If the answer to any of the above questions is ‘No’, why not let Nugent Santé or Santé Life help? What have you got to lose?

If you appoint us as your insurance adviser, we will replace your existing broker. Let us compare the advice you have been given so that you can be sure your cover suits your needs and demands.

Am I tied into a contract with Nugent Santé or Santé Life?

Not at all. Clients are able to ‘opt out’ of using Nugent Santé or Santé Life at any point they wish.

What do I need to do in order for you to review my existing medical / protection insurance policy?

Reviewing an existing arrangement is very easy. Simply complete and sign a letter of appointment to register Nugent Santé or Santé Life as the servicing agent of your policy and can also look after all of your administrative tasks.

We will then liaise with the insurer and obtain the relevant policy information that we need to carry out a market review.

What happens at next year's renewal date?

Should you encounter any problems mid-year, you can simply give us a call and we will assist you accordingly.

Once your renewal terms are available to us (usually six to eight weeks prior to the renewal date for a group scheme, or approximately four weeks prior to the renewal date for an individual policy), we will carry out a further market review exercise.

This ensures that the premium our clients are paying is always the most competitive for their needs and requirements.

Does the service you provide cost me anything?

Unless otherwise agreed with you, the payment we receive in respect of arranging your insurance policy will be a commission from the insurer.

Do you have access to my private medical records?

Being bound by the Data Protection Act, we do not have any access to your medical records unless you explicitly require us to do so, and provide written authority.

What if we have a lot of current and ongoing medical conditions?

We will always establish the facts of your medical history before we provide advice to you. We help clients with ongoing medical insurance in the same way as those who have none.

The insurer has told me I cannot get a discount or a better price, how can you help?

Some insurers may not offer a discount at the renewal date of a policy. However, as Nugent Santé and Santé Life are fully independent, we will address the whole of the medical insurance market place on our client’s behalf.

This means that we can provide market feedback to insurers and do our best to negotiate the cost with your current insurer.

What happens if I don’t want to change my current provider?

If you are happy with your current insurer then you do not have to change. We will of course provide you with information from alternative insurance providers and make recommendations based on the terms offered and, more importantly, your needs as our customer.

Are there any hidden costs?

No – not at all.
